Fanatics Sportsbook Illinois Promo Review

What You Need to Know

Our full breakdown of this promo — terms, value, and verdict.

Fanatics Sportsbook entered the US market after acquiring PointsBet's American operations. If you're in Illinois, you need to know whether Fanatics holds an active IGB license before you hand over a deposit. The Illinois Gaming Board issues master sports wagering licenses to eligible entities — casinos, racetracks, sports venues — and operator licenses to online platforms that skin off those masters. Fanatics' current active license status in Illinois should be confirmed directly on the IGB's official operator list before you sign up.

Is Fanatics Sportsbook legal and live in Illinois?

Illinois legalized online sports betting in March 2020. Fully remote sign-up has been allowed since 2022 — no casino visit required. The minimum legal age is 21. Fanatics operated in several states post-PointsBet acquisition, but its Illinois operational status as of 2025 is unconfirmed in publicly available IGB records at time of writing. Always verify on the IGB site before depositing. You must be physically located inside Illinois state lines to place a wager, regardless of where you registered.

How does the Fanatics welcome offer work?

Fanatics has used a bet-and-get structure in states where it operates — place a qualifying wager, receive bonus bets in return. Specific current dollar amounts for Illinois are not confirmed; check Fanatics' Illinois-facing promo page for live terms before opting in. What applies everywhere is this: bonus bets are non-withdrawable. Only winnings generated from a bonus bet can be cashed out. Many promos also require the bonus bet to be placed as a single wager, not a parlay, and on odds of −200 or longer. Miss those conditions and you forfeit the credit. Read the full T&C before you opt in.

Bonus bet vs. deposit match — which structure is worth more?

Fanatics has leaned toward the bet-and-get model rather than a straight deposit match. Which structure puts more money in your pocket depends on your betting habits and the playthrough terms attached. How does Fanatics compare to other Illinois sportsbooks?

What should you watch out for before claiming any promo?

Bonus expiry windows at US sportsbooks commonly run 7 to 30 days. Using an expired promo code means the bonus simply won't apply. Geolocation is another friction point — if you're near the Iowa or Indiana border, the app may misread your location. Disable any VPN and enable device location services before launching the app. For withdrawal disputes, the IGB accepts consumer complaints, so document all operator correspondence.
